The Mountains of The Moon by GrannyOgg The Mountains of The Moon by GrannyOgg
Created in Ultra Fractal 5

100% Raw Fractal. I worked on this some time ago but didn't feel it was quite finished. But at the moment it is as good as it's going to get and I have so many that I haven't up-loaded :)

That is a remarkable work of fractal art. Actually reminds me of Rykk's Fuji-San rykk.deviantart.com/art/Fuji-s… he submitted in 2006 at old Renderosity.

Another notable recent image is Nigel's Backwater nigel-hirst.deviantart.com/art…

And of course, honestly, I suck at developing natural scenes in UF. Envious!!!

Oh what a wonderful fractalist! I have never seen his/her work before today, so thank you for the introduction. I will certainly go back to have another look and to have my work compared to theirs is flattering in the extreme. I know Nigel's work and I admire his persistent pursuit of genre. I sort of got pushed in to scenes with a challenge presented by Ultra Fractal Redux group during my first six months of fractalling. A key to this type of image is SFBM. I studied parameters where depth of field was tackled in a two dimensional way using the gradient without reference to perspective. For instance a cloud is not two dimensional with black at its edges! Anyway I witter - Thank you for the compliment my friend, much appreciated.

Like many many others from 2000~05, he has not been around. But still you can visit his gallery.

Thank you too!

his work is fascinating.  he was definitely a mystic, and captures the spiritual essence of the Himalayas and the local beliefs.
